The Best Food in Disney

Disney has the best food! There’s so many options it can be overwhelming! I listed all my go to food stops for you and tips to help you find the best seating locations. I wanted to make sure you know the best way to find food locations and the importance of booking your dining reservations early!

Flame Tree Barbecue

Located in Animal Kingdom, Flame Tree Barbecue is one of my top favorites. It’s a quick service. I always get the baked macaroni and cheese with pulled pork and for a drink I get the Mandarin Orange Vodka Lemonade! Flame Tree Barbecue is definitely comfort food with a twist! Yes that’s coleslaw and onion rings on my mac!

Tip: I like to tray up my food and walk down to the Yak & Yeti. Across from the Yak & Yeti is a hidden area with tables and chairs. It’s mostly shaded and I think it’s a unique little spot. Most people don’t know about it so you are almost always guaranteed a seat!

Via Napoli

I love pasta and the Fettuccine Alfredo at Via Napoli was the best I have ever had! This restaurant is located in Epcot. They have excellent pizza here too! Book your reservations in advance!

Don’t skip dessert at Via Napoli!

Beaches and Cream Soda Shop

Beaches and Cream Soda Shop is located in the Beach Club Resort. This was the HARDEST reservation to get! I spent months and months trying to get a reservation. I even called Disney to ask if it was closed because I couldn’t figure out why it was so difficult to get a reservation. When I got a reservation and went for dinner I understood why. Yes the food is amazing, but it is also incredibly small inside. They only had a few tables. The food is your classic comfort food. I got a grilled cheese with tomato soup and it was excellent. The highlight of course are the massive sundaes! I got the No Way José sundae! They also have a sundae called the Kitchen Sink. It comes out in a kitchen sink and serves four! The best part? When the staff serves this sundae an alarm goes off with flashing lights and they announce who ordered the sundae! It’s so fun!

Tip: They have a window just for dessert so you don’t need a reservation for that. You just wait in line and get your dessert to go! The line can get long though.

Important: Disney announced that Beaches and Cream Soda Shop will be closed for refurbishment August through Winter 2019

Boma

Boma-flavors of Africa is a huge buffet located in the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Every time I go to Disney I make a dining reservation for Boma! This buffet has it all and is loved by many! The decor in the restaurant is simply stunning! There is so much on the buffet there will be something for everyone in your party. Make sure you make your dining reservations at the 180 day mark so you can get the reservations you want at the times convenient for you! Boma gets booked up QUICK!

Tip: Arrive early and go see the animals outside! Everyone is welcome to see them! Walk out the back doors of the resort and you will see all kinds of animals from giraffes to zebras! After dinner check out the gift shop! It’s near the main entrance.

Kona Cafe

Located in the Polynesian this is another meal you won’t want to miss! The atmosphere is very relaxing and the waitstaff is very friendly. I like to go for breakfast because I love their Tonga Toast and ham! If you don’t want to use a dining credit or if you want something cheaper, you do have another option. Capt. Cooks is a quick service located in the Polynesian and they serve Tonga Toast as well. It’s the exact same thing and as much as I love Kona Cafe, the next time I go I will most likely be going to Capt. Cooks for my Tonga Toast! Save those dining credits when you can!

Tip: After your meal go to the cafe right outside of the restaurant. Get yourself the famous Kona coffee and head outside towards the back of the resort. Outside you will find a beautiful beach with chairs. Sit with your coffee and enjoy the beautiful views!

Woody's Lunchbox

In my opinion, Hollywood Studios has yet to wow me with a quick service..that is until I finally tried Woody’s Lunchbox. I went twice on my last trip because I liked the food so much! The first picture is Totchos and the second is the BBQ brisket melt. For my drink I got the mystic portal punch and it was one of my favorite drinks in all of Disney!

Tip: Take your food and walk outside of Toy Story Land. There is hardly any shade in Toy Story Land and it gets HOT. Also, there is not a lot of seating options at Woody’s Lunchbox. It’s incredibly hard to get a table and even if you do get one, it’s still outside with little shade coverage. I was much happier taking my food and walking outside Toy Story Land to find a table.

The tarts are always really good!

Jack Jack Cookie Num Num

This cookie is HUGE! You’ll find it in Hollywood Studios near the old entrance of Toy Story Mania (where the Incredible’s section is now.) It’s not hard to find. Go get the giant cookie!

The Trolley Car Cafe

When I spend a day in Hollywood Studios I stop off for breakfast at The Trolley Car Cafe! They have all kinds of pastries and of course Starbucks so what’s not to love?

Tip: The bench directly across from the Trolley Car Cafe is a great place to sit and enjoy your coffee while watching the March of the First Order.

Sleepy Hollow

Located in Magic Kingdom this is a great midday snack location or a quick breakfast stop! My go to is the Fresh Fruit Waffle Sandwich! They have other waffles to choose from as well as more food options like a foot long corn dog!

Crystal Palace

This is a character dining experience located in Magic Kingdom. At Crystal Palace you will be able to meet all of your friends from the Hundred Acre Woods! The food was delicious and the waitstaff was wonderful! Our waitress would let us know when to go up to get our food at the buffet, so we wouldn’t miss any of our Hundred Acre Woods friends!

Tusker House

The Tusker House is located in Animal Kingdom. This is an excellent character dining buffet. They are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You’ll find something for everyone in your party here!

Kringla Bakeri og Cafe

Located in the Norway pavilion in Epcot you will find the famous School Bread. This is something you will either love or hate. It’s a pastry filled with a vanilla creme. It’s one of my favorite snacks in Epcot. Half of my friends love it while the other half hate it. It’s just something you have to try!

Tip: There’s plenty of seating available outside Kringla Bakeri og Cafe so take your pastry over to the seating area to enjoy!

There’s plenty of pastry options at Kringla Bakeri og Cafe so even if you don’t want the School Bread, I’m sure you will find something 😉

Satu'li Canteen

Located in Pandora in Animal Kingdom, the food options here are so unique! The menu seems to change frequently so be sure to check for updates.

Sprinkles Cupcakes

Located in Disney Springs, Sprinkles Cupcakes has the freshest cupcakes! With plenty of unique flavors this is something you want to try! They also have a wide variety of ice cream flavors. The line is almost always out the door, however it usually moves pretty quickly. You also have the option of using the cupcake ATM which is right next to the entrance. I prefer going inside because I like to see all the cupcakes.

The Daily Poutine

I love poutine! Poutine is french fries smothered in gravy with cheese curds. It’s amazing. In Disney Springs you will find The Daily Poutine. They have the traditional poutine as well as other unique options and there’s seating available right in front of it.

Tip: Recently I have been able to find poutine at the Refreshment Port in Epcot! I hope it stays!

More of My Favorites

Chef Mickey’s: A character dining buffet located in the Contemporary Resort. Enjoy your meal with Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Pluto, and Goofy!

Liberty Tree Tavern: Located in Magic Kingdom, they serve family style here. It’s basically a never ending Thanksgiving Feast! What’s not to love?

Cape May Cafe: Seafood buffet in the Beach Club Resort. They have character dining, but only for breakfast!

Sci-Fi Dine in Theater: A drive in theater in Hollywood Studios. Your table is in a car and you are parked in front of a giant screen where you watch sci-fi movie clips!

Afternoon Tea at Garden View Tea Room: This is in the Grand Floridian. Everything was so tasty!

Cookes of Dublin: Located in Disney Springs you will find the best fish and chips!

Disney has amazing food! I encourage you to try something different! I like to put together a list of dining reservations and snack credit places that I want to go to. As silly as it sounds, it is so helpful! There’s so many food options in Disney it’s overwhelming. Make sure you have ideas of what works for you and your family. The Disney website has menus of all the food locations, whether it’s sit downs or quick services. Look them up and write them down! For your dining reservations, please book them at the 180 day mark! This will help ensure that you get into not only the most popular dining locations, but the times that work best for you and your family. The longer you wait to book them, the harder it is to get in and get the times you want.
